|
Melt Wax: |
- Heat the candle wax to between
175°F and 185°F
using a
double-boiler system.
- Use a
candle thermometer to check temperature.
|
|
Add Scent: |
- When temperature reaches 185°F add up to 10% fragrance
by melted wax weight not to exceed 1 ounce of scent to 1
pound of wax.
|
|
Add Dye: |
- Add dye until desired color is
achieved.
- You
can test color by dropping a few drops of wax onto a piece of white
paper.
|
|
Stir
well: |
- Stir thoroughly to
incorporate scent and dye.
|
|
Pour Wax: |
- Pour
Wax that is between
175°F and 185°F
into clean molds,
the lower the temperature the less it will shrink.
|
|
Types of Wicks: |
|
Insert Wick: |
- Once the candle wax has solidified
about ¼ inch at bottom place the appropriate wick in the
Mold.
|
|
Cooling: |
- Allow to cool as slowly
as possible.
- Do not
place in a water bath or refrigerator to accelerate the cooling process.
|
|
Trim Wick: |
